Presentation application
Requirements
Presenters must be members (including corporate and student members) of the Society of Indoor Environment, Japan. There are no requirements for co-presenters. Non-members who wish to give a presentation are asked to submit an application for membership to the secretariat at the same time as the presentation application. However, this requirement does not apply for those whom the Society has requested to give presentations.

This information will be printed in the presentation program as is.
Please prepare your submission information carefully so that no changes will be needed later.

About your presentations

The Organizing Committee will decide whether to accept your applications for presentations and whether they can be given as an oral presentation or poster presentation. Please note that it may not be able to accommodate your request due to the time and space constraints.
Guidelines for paper submission
Abstract submission
Please submit your abstract in PDF format through the web system where you submitted your application. Log in and access “My page” of the web system and upload your abstract.
Deadline
Guidelines for manuscript preparation
- Download the template for manuscripts.
- Two pages on A4-size sheets.
- The manuscript should be prepared in Japanese or English using word processing software (as a general rule it should be saved as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file with the presenter’s name used as the file name). Manuscripts in Japanese should include an English title. All manuscripts should include the author(s) name(s) in Roman alphabet, English abstract (no more than 150 words), three to five keywords, and the affiliations of all authors on the first page.
- Pages should be in two-column format. Margins should be set at 25 mm on the top, 35 mm on the bottom, and 20 mm on the sides.
- The title should be 12 point font, Times New Roman, centered.
- The body should be about 10.5 point print type (Times New Roman).
- Do not use footnotes. Do not include page numbers.
- Indicate the main presenter by underlining his or her name.
- In addition to the affiliation of the presenter and co-presenters, specify whether each person is a member of the Society, student member, or non-member.
Guidelines for presenters
Oral Presentation
- We are planning to allow 15 minutes for each presentation, including 10 minutes for the lecture and 5 minutes for discussion and changing of speakers. These times are subject to change depending on the number of presentation applications received.
- Presenters are asked to conduct presentations using PowerPoint (we plan to have the Windows version of MS PowerPoint 2010 available). Presenters should operate the program by themselves.
- Presenters should create a copy of their electronic presentation file on the computer set up at the reception desk by Thursday, December 5 and check to make sure the file works.
- Be sure to run a virus check on the file BEFORE copying it.
Poster Presentation
- Presenters will be doing a three-minute oral presentation on Thursday, December 5 from 9:30.
- There’s no time for discussion.
- Presentations must be prepared with PowerPoint (we plan to have the Windows version of PowerPoint 2010 available). Presenters should operate the program by themselves.
- Presenters should create a copy of their electronic presentation file on the computer set up at the reception desk by 9:45 on Saturday, December 5 and check to make sure the file works.
- Be sure to run a virus check on the file BEFORE copying it.
Poster Display and explanation
- Set up your poster by 12:00 on Thursday, December 5. The planned size of panels for hanging posters is 90cm wide by 180cm tall per a panel.
- From 12:00 to 13:00 on Thursday and Friday, December 5-6, presenters are asked to be available beside their posters to provide explanations to visitors.
