Pharmaceutical researchers bring hope to society

The Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences comprises four major groups: medical social pharmacy, drug treatment design engineering, prevention pharmacy, and medical fundamental pharmacy. It aims to develop medical pharmacy researchers who take a key role in advanced medical care, researchers who contribute to the development of life sciences, and people who can contribute to medical administration. Students in the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences can conduct research in their chosen fields, produce results, and earn a doctoral degree (in medical pharmacy). By earning a doctoral degree in addition to the qualifications as a pharmacist, students can take the first step toward their careers as leading experts in pharmacy and expand their career opportunities. A PhD is a title that is widely recognized and respected throughout the world.

Fiscal year 2020 started with human damage and social confusion due to the spread of COVID-19. A last resort against COVID-19 is the development of an effective therapeutic drug and vaccine. To this end, desperate research activities are being implemented across the world. While the development of a candidate drug for treatment involves the investment of an enormous amount of time and money and a large number of basic pharmacy researchers, medical pharmacy researchers play an active role in making the candidate drug clinically applicable.

You can help bring hope to society by studying in the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, by creating new knowledge, and by giving the results back to society. We at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences welcome new students with a challenging spirit.

Doctoral Course in Clinical and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Contents of Education and Research

Amid the recent sophistication/complexity of medical treatment and with the advent of a super-aging society, the Doctoral Course in Clinical and Pharmaceutical Sciences produces medical pharmacy researchers as advanced professionals who can plan/practice high level-pharmacotherapy by collaborating in home care, cancer treatment, and palliative care. We categorize our education/research into four groups: medical social pharmacy, drug treatment design engineering, prevention pharmacy, and medical fundamental pharmacy.

A research supervisor will guide students to take beneficial courses based on their chosen career after graduation, and support their research activities to complete their master’s thesis.

We will confer the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences upon graduation.
