[Faculty Job Posting] Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmacy, Field of Clinical Pharmaceutics(Associate Professor, Lecturer, or Assistant Professor)

Nagasaki International University invites applications for a faculty position (Associate Professor, Lecturer, or Assistant Professor) in the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacy, Division of Clinical Pharmaceutical Practice, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

1 Position

One opening for Associate Professor, Lecturer level, or Assistant Professor level

2 Description

In addition to teaching the following courses, successful candidates will assist with duties related to the department.

(1)Duties:Education, research, social contribution, and student guidance.

(2)Courses to be Assigned:

《Specialized Courses in the Department》 Hospital Pharmacy or Pharmacy Management and Administration, Dispensing Pharmacy, Hospitality Practice, Specialized Seminar, Pre-training Courses for Practical Training (Dispensing I & II, Medical Communication, Prescription Analysis, Integrated Practice), Practical Training (Hospital and Community Pharmacy), Graduation Research, and other subjects assigned by the Dean of the Faculty.
《Common University-wide Courses》 Hospitality Seminar, Liberal Arts Seminar, Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Regional Understanding, Introduction to Home Medical Care, etc.
《Graduate School Courses》 Subjects offered under the Major in Medical and Social Pharmacy, and Special Research (for positions other than Assistant Professor).

3.Requirements

  1. Possession of a doctoral degree is desirable.
  2. Licensed pharmacists with at least five years of practical experience as a pharmacist.
  3. Outstanding research achievements in the field of clinical pharmacy.
  4. Must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to promoting pharmaceutical education and advanced research in their area of expertise after appointment.
  5. Must possess excellent character, discernment, and cooperative spirit.
  6. Must be able to reside in Sasebo City or its surrounding area after appointment.
  7. In accordance with Article 8 of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, which allows special measures concerning female workers, this recruitment aims to improve the current situation in which the proportion of female faculty members is considerably low. 4.Contract period

The appointment is for a fixed term of three years. After the completion of the initial term, renewal of the contract andpromotion may be possible upon review.
Probationary period present.
The probationary period shall be one year from the date of employment.

  3. Offprints of Major Publications – Up to 5 papers (photocopies acceptable) – 4 copies
  4. Summary of Educational and Research Achievements – Approximately 2,000 characters – 4 copies
  5. Statement of Aspirations for Education and Research at This University – Approximately 2,000 characters – 4 copies
  6. Letter of Recommendation – Addressed to Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hideaki Fujita – 1 copy
    Note: In the case of self-recommendation, please provide the names and contact information of two persons who can be contacted for reference regarding the applicant.

8.Selection process

First Screening: Document review.
Second Screening: Conducted at the university for those who pass the first screening.

The second screening will, in principle, be held on campus. Candidates will be asked to give a presentation (approximately 15 minutes) on their aspirations for education and an overview of the educational and research activities they aim to pursue at this university, followed by a question-and-answer session (approximately 5 minutes) and an interview.
Please note that all travel and related expenses for the second screening are to be borne by the applicant.
The second screening is scheduled to be conducted by late December 2025.

9.Notification of Results

  • Results of the First Screening: Notification is scheduled to be notified by Friday, December 5, 2025.
  • Results of the Second Screening: Notification is scheduled to be notified by Friday, January 9, 2026.
